Cooking for kids: Creamy zucchini potato Gratin (Zucchini Dauphinoise)

Gratin dauphinois is one of the delicious potato dishes . It consists of just potatoes, zucchini, heavy cream , cheese, butter and a little salt, with fresh garlic.
This gratin is delicious and a great way to eat vegetables, especially if you have a children who don't like to eat their veggies.
Ingredients:
500 g/ 1 lb of zucchini thinly sliced
500 g/ 1 lb of potatoes peeled, thinly sliced
4 cloves of fresh garlic
1 cup of grated cheese
1 tablespoon of butter
40 cl of heavy cream
15 cl of milk
1 pinch of grated nutmeg
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper
Method:
Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
Grease the oven dish with butter and rub it with a split garlic clove.
Squeeze the garlic cloves remaining in the garlic press and set aside.
Lay a layer of potatoes in the bottom of the dish, add a small amount of salt and pepper and sprinkle with garlic. Cover again with a layer of zucchini, and add salt, pepper, and garlic again. Renew these operations and Finish with a layer of zucchini.
In a medium bowl, combine the heavy cream and the milk with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Pour the mixture of the cream on the vegetables.
Tilt the dish in all directions to distribute the liquid evenly.
Bake for about 1 hour. The cooking time is indicative and depends on the variety of potatoes. After 45 minutes, prick the fork in the center of the gratin to check their cooking.
At the end of cooking, cover the dish with a layer of cheese and cook for 5 minutes.
